It is with no small amount of joy that I greet what appears to the advent of fall, which is my favorite season and, as far as I’m concerned, one of the best times of the year. Autumn leaves, apples, cider, bonfires, pumpkins… Hope all of you are entering the season with hopeful and expectant spirits for the continuing revelation of God’s work!
This week, we talked about how the Biblical virtue of hospitality translates to present-day circumstances and why forgiveness is often more complex than we imagine. I also started a three-post series that deals with the phenomenon of “Bible-lite”: the tendency of believers to substitute Bible study with supplementary Christian materials, instead, and what the consequences of that might be for the modern church.
Hoping all is well with all of you – I am on the tail end of editing my Humility: The Misunderstood Virtue study, and should have it available for purchase in a matter of weeks. May God bring you rest and joy this weekend!
